Built as a system

The roof is more than the visible material.

New-construction roofing brings together deck conditions, underlayment, roof geometry, valleys, penetrations, flashing, ventilation, edge details and the selected finish material. CMF evaluates these components as one scope so the proposal reflects the actual design instead of a generic price per square.

We consider new roofing for single-family homes, duplexes and residential developments within our operating scope. Architectural shingles, metal roofing and suitable low-slope assemblies may be evaluated depending on the drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, project economics and the work CMF is permitted to contract at that time.

Roofing scope

Material flexibility.
Installation discipline.

Architectural shingles

Complete new shingle assemblies with underlayment, flashing, ventilation coordination and finish details.

Metal roofing

Metal systems evaluated according to panel type, geometry, transitions, detailing, schedule and project budget.

Low-slope assemblies

Flat and low-slope roof areas considered when compatible with the design, specifications and current operating scope.

Development roofing

Repeatable bid packages for builders delivering multiple single-family homes or duplexes in planned phases.

Planning the roof

Decisions that shape price and performance.

Geometry and access

Pitch, total roof area, hips, valleys, dormers, wall intersections and site access affect material quantities, labor and sequencing. Clean drawings reduce uncertainty and help the estimate distinguish base scope from design changes.

Water management and ventilation

Underlayment, ice-and-water protection, flashing details, penetrations and ventilation must work together. The final assembly should follow the approved plans, applicable requirements and written contract—not assumptions taken from a marketing page.

Materials and schedule

Product selection, color, availability, manufacturer details and the point at which the building is ready for roofing all influence procurement and mobilization. CMF confirms these inputs before a final commitment.

New-home roof installation

Build the assembly, not just the surface.

A new-construction roofing contractor must connect the visible material to the layers and details that manage water, ventilation and transitions. CMF reviews the roof plan, elevations and specifications so the proposed package can distinguish deck readiness, underlayment, ice-and-water protection, valleys, flashing, vents, penetrations, edge metal and the selected finish system.

Architectural asphalt shingles are evaluated according to the specified product, exposure, color, accessory requirements and manufacturer details. Metal roofing depends on panel type, substrate, fastening method, transitions and trim. Where a design contains low-slope areas, those sections must be evaluated as their own compatible assembly instead of being treated like a steep-slope field.

For a custom home or residential development, the bid should also state who controls material selection, delivery, rooftop loading, temporary protection, cleanup, punch work and changes caused by revised plans.

Roofing construction sequence

From roof plan
to weather-ready building.

The sequence is confirmed per project, but a disciplined roofing review usually follows these checkpoints.

  1. 01

    Plan review

Measure the roof, identify geometry, penetrations, specialty areas, ventilation, materials, alternates and missing details.

  2. 02

    Procurement

Confirm approved products, colors, accessories, lead times, delivery requirements and the intended installation window.

  3. 03

    Readiness

Verify deck conditions, access, safety constraints, adjacent work and the builder’s requested dry-in milestone.

  4. 04

    Installation

Execute the awarded underlayment, flashing, ventilation, penetration and finish-system scope in the planned sequence.

  5. 05

    Closeout

Complete cleanup, documented punch items and the warranty or closeout requirements defined in the agreement.

Estimate inputs

Send a buildable scope.

Share the roof plan, elevations, project address, material specifications, target dry-in date and bid deadline. Note any solar, chimneys, skylights, mechanical penetrations, specialty metal or low-slope areas. If the project is one phase of a larger development, include the unit count and expected release sequence.

Projects beyond the primary radius may be evaluated anywhere in Wisconsin when the anticipated contract value exceeds $50,000. Final availability depends on travel, schedule, project fit and applicable credential requirements.

What types of new roofing does CMF evaluate?

CMF evaluates shingle, metal and appropriate low-slope systems for new single-family homes, duplexes and residential developments, depending on the project.

Does CMF replace existing roofs?

The initial focus is new-construction roofing. Send the project details so CMF can confirm whether the scope fits current operations.

What area does CMF serve for roofing?

The primary roofing service area is approximately 100 miles from Eau Claire, with other Wisconsin opportunities evaluated when the anticipated contract is over $50,000.

What information improves a roofing estimate?

Roof plans, elevations, material specifications, roof area, pitch, penetrations, ventilation requirements, project address and target schedule all improve bid clarity.

Can CMF bid roofing for several new homes or duplexes?

Yes. Builders can submit the base plans, elevations, material systems, unit count and expected release schedule for a phased development roofing review.

Does CMF evaluate both asphalt shingle and metal roofing?

Yes. Architectural shingles, metal roofing and suitable low-slope areas may be evaluated according to the plans, project economics and current operating scope.
